Written by Oliver Wendall Holmes
First published as a book in 1858, this collection of essays are one-sided dalogues between the author (Oliver Wendall Holmes) and the tenants of a boarding house on a variety of subjects. These essays were first published in Atlantic Monthly magazine and later appeared in book form.
One of the gems from this volume:
"It is a capital plan to carry a tablet with you and, when you find yourself felicitous, take notes of your own conversation."
