Rev. Thomas G. F. Hill

Rev. Thomas G. F. Hill
Rev. Thomas Guthrie Franklin Hill was Grace Livingston Hill’s husband. They were married in 1892 by Grace’s father and began their married life at the church that Rev. Hill was pastoring in western Pennsylvania. Later they were called to Wakefield Presbyterian Church near Philadelphia in Germantown. Grace lovingly called him “Frank,” although his congregation knew him as Rev. Thomas G. F. Hill. They had two daughters, Margaret Livingston Hill and Ruth Glover Hill.
Together, they wrote a two-part series of books, The Christian Endeavor Hour with Light for the Leader. This series was written for the Christian Endeavor youth program and gave suggestions to its leaders for running the weekly meeting. It was later syndicated in national newspapers.
Rev. Hill was suddenly called Home in 1899 after suffering from acute appendicitis. Following his death, Grace moved to Swarthmore, Pennsylvania with her daughters to begin the next chapter of their lives.
