Ladybird was published in 1930 and while Fraley's tale is her own, this book shares plot elements with The Girl from Montana. Fraley MacPherson flees her western home, pursued by the men who killed her father and have worse things planned for her. The dying wish of her mother was that Fraley reach her estranged family in the east, but it will be no easy task! If you can't find an original, don't fret - it was reprinted in paperback by Tydale/Living Books as #13 in the series. These paperbacks (and the early Bantam paperbacks with the same numbers) are true to the original and have not been edited as with some of the more recent editions.
