In chapter 9 of Lone Point, Rachel receives two books from Roland DeVere. The first is called A Castaway, and we know from subsequent conversation between the minister and Maria that it was written by F. B. Meyer and that Howard Fairfield told her he had missed an opportunity to hear him speak in his city.
